Born in Barcelona, Mercè Amat has a degree in architecture from the School of Architecture in Vallès in 2013 and a degree in building enginnery by the Barcelona School of Building Engineering in 2008.

Since today, she has
been conbining her personal practice with different full-time or part-time jobs
as architect in different studios as DATAAE, OAB and Arquitectura-G. Nowadays,
she is also collaborating with the Town Hall of Sant Feliu de Llobregat and
Alella, Barcelona.
During her training, she was granted with Erasmus scholarship in Paris, she participated in various international "workshops" and worked as a studio tutor at the Umeå School of Architecture, Sweden, during 2015.
